Amy and Beau flew in from Washington, D.C. and brought friends from all over the country (and even the world) to Colorado for a week of celebrating together. By the time their wedding day arrived, it already felt like everyone had been on an adventure together.
The day started at the Klee House at the Catbird Hotel in Denver, where they got ready with their friends and surprised the whole wedding party with matching sneakers. Their first look happened on the hotel’s spiral staircase, with Amy walking down while Beau waited at the bottom and their friends cheered from the sides.
Their ceremony at Space Annex was a Quaker ceremony, which centers around presence and reflection. Guests could stand and share stories, encouragement, or advice, making the whole room part of the moment. I absolutely love the tradition!
Dinner was catered by Mountain Crust (the best wedding pizza around), and once the dance floor opened things got wild. Beau and several of his friends are professionally trained dancers, which turned the reception into one of the most impressive dance floors I’ve ever seen (seriously, scroll to the end of the post and take a look. Leaps. Slides. Twirls. So good!)
They ended the night outside with an electrolyte piñata — honestly the perfect way to close out a wedding in Colorado altitude.
Amy and Beau — and their whole crew — are remarkable people, and this whole day felt like exactly what a wedding should be: joyful, relaxed, and centered around time with the people you love.
