Some days you just know early on. The second I stepped into Beaver Creek that morning — blue skies, perfect July air, a group of people already buzzing – I knew this one was going to be good.
Kelly and Andrew had their first look on a small bridge tucked away from everything. Just the two of them, a quiet pocket of calm before the day really opened up. You could feel them both exhale.
From there we rode the ski lift up to Spruce Saddle Lodge – which, for someone who doesn’t ski, is genuinely one of my favorite parts of a Beaver Creek wedding. Floating up the mountain with the whole wedding party, Beaver Creek spreading out below us in the middle of summer. That view never stops being incredible.
The ceremony deck at Spruce Saddle does something to people. You walk out and the mountains just hit you all at once. Kelly and Andrew stood up there surrounded by everyone they love with that massive Colorado backdrop behind them, and it felt exactly as good as it sounds.
The reception was a full-on party — the kind where the energy never dips. One of the highlights was Andrew’s brothers grabbing instruments mid-reception and playing a song together. Completely unscripted, totally them, and exactly the kind of moment you can’t plan for but secretly hope for on every wedding day.
Then the ending that I’m still thinking about. The band walked everyone out playing live, leading the whole crowd toward the gondolas back down the mountain. Music echoing, mountain air, everyone smiling. Kelly and Andrew right in the middle of it.
And that’s how it all went! What an amazing day – I’m so thankful I got to be there for it!
