Lost Gulch Overlook
Lost Gulch Over look is EPIC. If you only want to walk 90 seconds from the car you couldn’t ask for a better view. It’s a rocky viewpoint looking out miles and miles across colorado. You’re able to see 14ers hours away covered in snow while you sit on your own safe rock in Boulder. It can get fairly busy, but it’s worth a stop. If you’re willing to hike a little bit more and value privacy, I’ve got a few other spots we can chat about.
Chautauqua Park
Chautauqua Park is at the foot of Flagstaff Mountain and offers beautiful views of the Flatirons! It’s super easy to get to, and not very challenging to hike. While it can get fairly busy there, the park is so large that I’ve never any issue fidning a corner without people.
Downtown Boulder
Downtown Boulder is a ton of fun! From its bustling pedestrian malls to its charming boutiques and cafes, this vibrant district offers endless opportunities for capturing the energy and excitement of urban life. I love to wander the streets, camera in hand, capturing candid moments, vibrant street scenes, and the unique character of this lively city.
Sunrise Amphitheater Rental Rules & Regulations
Whenever we’re at any location, it’s important to understand and understand the rules and regulations. In this case, according to the Boulder city website, Sunrise Amphitheater has a few to acknowledge.
The area is patrolled by local law enforcement agencies – so we are going to abide by these rules!
No fire! Fires, open flames, ignition sources or smoke-producing devices of any kind are prohibited – including unity candles. My recommendation is that if you are wondering, “Does this count as a flame?” Then just stay safe and assume it’s prohibited.
A facility reservation permit only permits for commercial photography within the designated area. If you’re getting married here, your photographer will need a commercial permit for the rest of flagstaff mountain (I’ve got you covered).
Structures of any kind are prohibited including tents, shade tents, canopies, nets, barrels, and freestanding arches. If you want an arch at the wedding, this likely isn’t the place.
No signs, balloons, etc. This is a NATURAL park – let’s keep it that way
No flower petals, rice, confetti, birdseed, straw, glitter, or other unsecured materials shall be used at events. If it isn’t from the park, it’s littering.
The maximum number of participants for any single event may not exceed the capacity listed on the “Facility Use Application” and the “Facility Use Permit.”
No releasing of animals or balloons is allowed. So no helium filled pigeons.
Drones are prohibited from here – even with a commercial license.
NO LEAVING TRASH! If there is any trash, have a way to get rid of it.
Glass isn’t allowed. This means wine glasses, champagne bottles, 3rd generation platters from your great-grandmother…We don’t want to break any glass here.
Destruction, damage, or removal of any vegetation or defacement of property is prohibited. If this happens, your photographer or whoever has a permit here will be charged for the cost of repairs.
No charging for the event. If you are charging people to be at your wedding…there may be other things to discuss, ha!
No live bands or amplified noise.
All vehicles not registered in Boulder County must have a parking permit.
No food trucks or commercial vehicles.
Facilities must be left in a clean and orderly condition. Applicant will be required to pay for all damages, losses, and costs associated with excessive clean up. For enclosed facilities, windows and doors must be closed and locked, and tables and other equipment must be replaced in their original location.
No smoking here – even with cotton candy flavored vapes.
