Abby and Cody traveled from Kansas for their Boulder wedding.
My day started at 7am with them at Rembrandt Yard, but I’m pretty sure Abby was up at 4 or 5am. There’s something about wedding mornings that’s both nerve-wracking and sacred. You’re about to marry your person, and time feels like it’s moving too fast and too slow all at once.
After their first look in the side yard, I gave them a few minutes alone to just rest together. Not every moment needs to be documented. Sometimes you just need to sit on a bench with your person and remember to breathe before the day really starts moving.
From there we headed to Chautauqua Park for group shots with the Flatirons behind them. Then up to Flagstaff House for their ceremony and reception. The views are absurd, the food is ridiculously good, and Abby and Cody’s people showed up ready to celebrate (brunch style).
After their bubble exit, we weren’t done. We drove up to Lost Gulch Overlook for portraits with basically all of Colorado spread out behind them. Then made a pit stop at a gas station for energy drinks and Gatorade. Because hydration is real and everyone could use some extra energy.
They scooped their dog and we ended the day back at Chautauqua Park. Golden light, their puppy eager to explore, and the two of them able to slow down together after celebrating all day.
This is what I love about Boulder weddings. The flexibility to move around, hit multiple locations, include your dog, build in moments that matter. This is why I offer full-day coverage with no time limits. Abby and Cody’s day went from 7am to sunset, with a break in the middle. No rushing “because the photographer is only here for 8 hours”. We just followed the story as it unfolded.
If you’re planning a Colorado wedding and want a photographer who’ll be there for your whole day, not just the bullet points, let’s talk.
